Active projects incorporating permaculture principles
2013 – present
Constable Street Field is run by the Friends of Constable Field, which includes a small number of permaculture enthusiasts. The orchard in the northern corner was planted in early 2014 and is beginning to get established. Permaculture enthusiasts are key member of the FOCF and where possible, permaculture principles are being used to influence the design of the site.
Access to and the fenced compound (south west section on aerial photo) was gained in the autumn of 2015, after which bulb planting sessions were arranged (see blog post in October) in order to improve the perimeter of the locked area. Preparations are being made to facilitate growing space for local people, and hopefully work will get underway in early 2016.
